A new Transformers: The Last Knight video teases the “secret history” of the Transformers on Earth. The hugely successful Transformers franchise started out like a traditional movie trilogy, but it’s expanding beyond that. Inspired by shared movie universes like those created from Marvel and DC properties, director Michael Bay promises an expansive mythology in his fifth – and (perhaps) final – movie in the series, Transformers: The Last Knight. Though Bay is likely bowing out, the promise of an expanded Transformers universe is setting up for more installments in the franchise.

Kong: Skull Island Passes $500 Million At Worldwide Box Office

King Kong came roaring back to life in Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures’ Kong: Skull Island, which easily topped the U.S. box office in its opening weekend with about $61 million. However, the film has quickly dropped off in subsequent weeks after its opening as the competition stiffened with the likes of Beauty and the Beast and Power Rangers crowding the field. With a MonsterVerse planned from Warner Bros. and Legendary, producers were likely hoping for more from Kong: Skull Island’s domestic box office numbers.

Spider-Man: Ganke Lee Co-Creator Addresses Ned Leeds Comparisons

In just a few months, Sony will once again take a crack at bringing Peter Parker to life on screen when Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters. This time, however, it will have Marvel Studios helping craft the vision, and will benefit from the exposure the character received in Civil War last year. Sony will also take a cue from the comics by focusing on Peter’s time as a high school student for the foreseeable future. While previous films have originated with Peter as a teen superhero, those stories have quickly moved on. Homecoming, by contrast, will try and focus on a coming of age story with the trappings of a comic book film.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Would Play Another Batman Villain

After his turn as Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin, Arnold Schwarzenegger is open to playing another movie supervillain. Warner Bros. may just be starting what they plan to be a long line of films that make up the DC Extended Universe, but this is hardly the first time many of these characters have been brought to life on the big screen. Their two headliners, Batman and Superman, have each led multiple movies over the years, with Richard Donner’s Superman and Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight largely deemed the best movie for each. While both have already been featured prominently in the new DCEU, the studio has introduced new iterations of the characters.

Written by Ryan Parrott and drawn by Lucas Werneck and Robert Carey, Aftershock picks up where the movie left off and delves a bit deeper into how the people of Angel Grove are coping with the new reality of the Power Rangers among them, as well as how the Rangers continue to adjust to their newfound powers and responsibilities.
